What to Expect
Dr. Tim Herzog and Dr. Kris Eiring will co-lead this 20-hour group mentorship experience for licensed (or license-eligible) mental health providers beginning in March, 2025. This program is structured to help participants refine consulting skills, deepen their understanding of athlete mental performance, and build meaningful professional relationships. Drawing from extensive applied experience and sport psychology literature, topics will include:
- Ethical decision-making in mental performance consulting (Herzog & Zito, 2023)
- Case conceptualization and intervention strategies (Herzog et al., 2023)
- Differentiating between mental performance consulting and psychotherapy (Herzog & Hays, 2012)
- Evidence-informed interventions integrating performance psychology and clinical techniques (Herzog, Eiring, & Bartley, 2022)
- Self-regulation training and personalized consulting approaches (Herzog et al., 2018; Hathaway & Eiring, 2010; Winter et al., 2024)
